Models present creations made from traditional batik cloth during Solo Batik Carnival in Semarang, April 25, 2010. The carnival featured around 16 performers incorporating masks into their acts, which took place along Jalan Pemuda Semarang.
The carnival was held to support the Asli Indonesia event, Batik Expo by Bokor Kencono from April 23 to May 3, 2010.
The carnival presented three styles of traditional masks, which are associated with particular mythological characters. The Panji masks represent a king or a queen along with gentleness and beauty, the Kelana masks represent knights or evil giants and the Gecuk masks represent punakawan or royal servants.
